(EnergyAsia, October 1 2015, Thursday) — More than 1,000 top government officials and executives of oil and gas companies are expected to attend the 22nd Africa Oil Week and Africa Upstream Conference in Cape Town, South Africa on October 26-30.

Global Pacific & Partners and ITE Group plc will jointly host the landmark event that will feature more than 120 speakers who will give updates on the oil and gas industry across the continent. The event will also feature 160 exhibitors and extensive networking opportunities.

Tony Hayward, chairman of Genel Energy as well as Glencore (Xstrata), will be the keynote speaker at the 22nd Africa Upstream 2015.

The 22nd Africa Oil Week will feature the following events: the 13th Africa Independents Forum, 17th Scramble for Africa Strategy Briefing by Duncan Clarke, chairman of Global Pacific & Partners, and 71st PetroAfricanus Dinner In Africa, with Peter Dolan of Ophir Energy as guest speaker.

 

Conference updates

The Republic of Congo will host a roadshow, with Hydrocarbon Minister André-Raphaël Loemba presenting and opening the 2016 Licence Round to investors interested in for opportunities in his country.

Gabon: Petroleum Minister Etienne Dieudonne Ngoubou will be announcing his country’s deepwater license round 2016.

Ghana: The Petroleum Commission will join as a sponsor of the 22nd Africa Oil Week 2015. Theo Ahwireng, CEO of Ghana’s Petroleum Commission, will lead a national delegation at the event.

Mozambique: Carlos Zacarais, chairman of state Instituto Nacional do Petroleo (INP), and a delegation will be the 22nd Africa Oil Week.

Kenya: Officials from the Energy Ministry will present plans for future licensing.
