(EnergyAsia, April 30, Monday) — Nasdaq-listed Solarfun Power Holdings Co Ltd, a leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules in China, will supply 182MW of photovoltaic modules to Ecostream, a leading Dutch renewable energy system integrator, under a term contract from 2007 to 2010. Ecostream has also committed to purchase 12MW of photovoltaic modules from Solarfun in 2007, the two companies said in a joint statement.


Solarfun chairman and CEO Yonghua Lu said: “This framework agreement represents a significant step in expanding our sales volume to European countries. Ecostream is a leading renewable energy solution provider with a significant market share in the solar energy sector in Europe. Solarfun manufactures both PV cells and PV modules, provides PV cell processing services to convert silicon wafers into PV cells, and supplies solar system integration services in China. The company produces both monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon cells and modules, and manufactures 100% of its modules with in-house produced PV cells.


Founded in 2004, Solarfun sells its products both through third-party distributors and directly to system integrators.
