(EnergyAsia, April 26, Thursday) — PT Elnusa, a subsidiary of Indonesian state energy company Pertamina, is planning to build a 5 trillion rupiah oil refinery and an oil storage tank farm in Banten province. (US$1=9,200 Indonesian rupiah).

 

Elnusa, the holding company for 14 business units, mainly in the oil and gas sector, recently signed a preliminary agreement with Banten’s local authority to look into the proposed 300,000 b/d refinery and storage project.

 

The proposed refinery is likely to be located in Bojonegara and will have an output capacity of 300,000 barrels of refined products per day.

 

The central government is building a port at Bojonegara that could overtake Tanjung Priok in Jakarta as the country’s largest port.

 

Banten and Elnusa officials said they are also looking to jointly invest in a tank farm for storing and blending oil products.
