Officials said that as much as 80% of Lahore’s urban transportation system and half its inter-city connections have shut down due to the scarcity of gasoline and diesel supplies. They warn that the province’s transportation system will completely cease to operate if the oil companies failed to bring in fresh supplies of fuel.
Caltex, one of the country’s main oil companies, has stopped delivering diesel from its Machi Depot in Sheikhupura city while Shell and state-owned PSO have brought in occasional supplies.
