(EnergyAsia, September 25, Thursday) — The 4th Asia Refining Conference’ will be held at the Marina Mandarin hotel in Singapore from October 16 to 17.

Despite record oil prices, Asia’s refining sector remains robust with capacity growth in China, India and West Asia. Global fuel demand is expected to remain buoyant and strong boosting the long-term outlook for refining margins. With tight product supplies and stringent specification, refiners are re-engineering themselves – seeking new export routes, optimising production performance and increasing process efficiency to maximise returns.

The conference aims to provide delegates with updates on current issues faced by refiners and downstream petrochemicals producers in the region, as well as a platform for senior executives to network. More than 100 players are expected to attend.

Topics covered include oil refining outlook in Asia and the Middle East, re-engineering for profitability, project expansions, India’s refining capacity expansion, crude oil supply, oil price impacts, rising EPC costs, hydroprocessing of heavy feedstocks, clean gasoline and diesel cost solution, Asian petrochemicals market and demand for petroleum products in China.

Speakers at the event include Brant Thomas Fish (Chevron), Shyam Bagrodia (Essar Oil Limited), Satvinder Roopra (Wood Mackenzie), Peri KVJ Sarma (Reliance Industries Limited), Clive Gibson (Nexant Asia), Prakriti Sofat (HSBC), Mohd Shah Mohd Isa (Petronas Oil Business), Steve Spicer (Foster Wheeler Eastern Pte Ltd), Jesper Rødtjer (Haldor Topsøe A/S), Tony Parker (DuPont Clean Technologies), Stanley Park (PCS), Shu Zhao Xia(SINOPEC), Rukmi Hadihartini (Pertamina) and Edwin Weaver (Belco Technologies Corporation).
