(EnergyAsia, October 29, Wednesday) — The organiser of OSEA2008, to be held at the Suntec International Convention Centre in Singapore from December 2 to 5, said the exhibition is 80% bigger than the previous show.

OSEA, Asia’s largest oil and gas exploration and production industry exhibition and conference, is expected to attract 1,400 leading exhibiting companies from 49 countries.

Rising world demand for energy has led to increased oil and gas exploration and production activities. Record oil prices earlier in the year have made some projects viable.  A study by MacKay Consultants of Scotland revealed that the Asia Pacific region will account for US$30.5 billion worth of oil and gas exploration and production expenditure by 2009.

Organised by Singapore Exhibition Service, the conference will address key issues faced by the industry as it looks to develop untapped offshore resources using new technologies. More than 40 business and thought leaders will be sharing their expert knowledge on exploration and production issues, and gas technology and recovery topics.

Exhibitors include Ameron, Aker Yards, Bureau Veritas, Dockwise, EATON, Fluor Corporation, FUGRO, Global Industries, Global Process System, Halliburton, IHC Merwede, Keppel Fels, Kongsberg Maritime, McDermott, Mustang, Lloyds, Nortechs FPSO, Swiber, Prosafe Production Services, Technip Subsea 7 Asia Pacific, Tyco Thermal Controls and Parker Hannifin Singapore.

“OSEA2008’s growth has positioned the event well to meet the spike in demand by the oil and gas companies as they capitalise on the opportunities on offer in the Asia Pacific,” said Tee Boon Teong, OSEA project director at Singapore Exibition Services.
