With its theme of “Sustainability, Partnership and Innovation”, TUV SUD PSB showcased its full portfolio of services at Build Eco Xpo (BEX) 2010 to help owners, developers and builders construct and maintain eco-friendly buildings.
The internationally recognised testing body had four of its in-house experts presenting at FOCUS@BEX Asia and SGBC Green Building Conference 2010.
Chay-Lee Swee Gee, vice president for the Strategic Business Department, Industry – Electrical, presented different types of international energy and green labeling schemes for electrical products in her presentation entitled “Testing and Certifying Electrical Products for Energy Efficiency and Eco-Friendliness”.
Bratin Roy, general manager of TUV SUD South Asia, spoke on “Green Building – An Opportunity to Reduce Carbon Footprint”, covering recent green building developments and opportunities to reduce carbon footprint.
Stefan Heuss, head of TUV SUD Center of Competence, Energy Efficiency, TUV SUD Industry Services, presented on “Retrofitting Existing Buildings” and gave tips on how owners, builders, developers and builders can implement cost-effective evaluations and focus on the sustainability potential of their buildings.
Sun Qiqing, assistant vice president at TUV SUD PSB’s Mechanical Engineering Center, spoke on “An Integrated Approach: Balancing Cost-Effectiveness, Safety and Sustainability in Building and Construction”, where he focused on the testing of indoor environmental quality and use of resources in buildings.
TUV SUD PSB also launched at the event its carbon-free certification service for hotels, providing them a platform to demonstrate their corporate social responsibilities, and empowering hotel staff in identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving savings through carbon reduction initiatives in operations and secondary activities.
