(EnergyAsia, April 27, Friday) — The US Department of Energy has issued another tender to buy four million barrels of crude oil for the nation’s strategic petroleum stockpile. Two million barrels each are to be delivered to storage sites in Louisiana and Texas in June.

Early in the month, the department was forced to cancel a tender after receiving offers at prices higher than what it was prepared to pay.

The US now holds about 689 million barrels of crude, equal to about 56 days of imports, in its 727 million barrels of storage capacity.
