(EnergyAsia, October 6 2010, Wednesday) — Complex marine riser systems expert 2H Offshore, a member company of the UK subsea engineering specialist group Acteon, has opened a regional base in Perth, Australia to better serve its Asia Pacific customers.

The Houston, Texas-based company specialises in the analysis, design, procurement and integrity monitoring of complex marine riser systems for deepwater developments, where risers are subject to complex loading conditions and operating regimes.

Elizabeth Tellier, who relocated from the company’s Houston, Texas office to become general manager of the Perth office, said:

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to support the Australian oil and gas market. 2H’s capabilities in riser and conductor design can help to support the emerging deepwater market in Western Australia.”

Hugh Howells, principal director at 2H Offshore, said:

“The subsea oil and gas industry in Asia Pacific is growing rapidly. Opening an office in the region will help us to support existing clients and enable us to meet the increasing demand for our specialist, deepwater riser and conductor engineering services.”

2H Offshore is already involved in several projects in the region, including the Browse liquefied natural gas development off the coast of Western Australia state. The company specialises in providing engineering design services and analysis of offshore risers and conductors for shallow and deepwater applications. It is also a leader in subsea integrity management for risers, conductors, flowlines, mooring lines and other subsea equipment.
