(EnergyAsia, September 26, Friday) — ‘China Coal Markets Conference 2008’ will be held at the Kempinski Hotel in Beijing, China from October 9 to 10.

China is a key player in the world coal markets today. Rising domestic prices have caused anxiety to spread in the international coal community as to whether Beijing will curtail exports this year and beyond. In contrast, imports continue to stagnate and are unlikely to recover fully following the recent cap on domestic prices.

Speakers will discuss the key issues governing China’s future supply and demand balance – from policy on mining and mine safety to power industry development and coal production costs.

The conference will focus on China’s coal import and export potential, the strategies of consumers, international suppliers, the role of government, demand and supply outlook, and infrastructure building.

Speakers will be addressing the many developments, including those affecting the crucial Datong-Qinhuangdao corridor.

Experts from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Russia will also be speaking at the event.

‘China Coal Markets Conference 2008’ is jointly organised by McCloskey and Xinhua InfoLink. For more information on ‘China Coal Markets Conference 2008’, please contact Admin@EnergyAsia.com.
