(EnergyAsia, September 10, Wednesday) — The Oxford Princeton Programme will be holding a workshop, ‘Fundamentals of Petroleum Refining – A non-technical introduction’, in Singapore from October 16 to 17.
The programme is designed to introduce non-technical oil industry members to petroleum refining, refinery operations and its effect on global oil and product prices.
Topics covered include fundamentals of crude oil, petroleum chemistry, the three stages of refining, atmospheric and vacuum distillation, cracking processes, catalytic reforming, gas plants, isomerisation, alkylation, hydrotreating, blending and refinery economic terms.
As part of Oxford Princeton’s blended learning package, participants are advised to complete a web-based course, ‘Petroleum Refining Made Easy’, which is recommended as a pre-classroom study.
