(EnergyAsia, February 19, Tuesday) — Renewable Energy Conference 2008 will be held at the Grand Copthrone Waterfront Hotel in Singapore from March 27 to 28.
With spikes in oil prices, rapid depletion of fossil fuels and a booming economy, Asia is hungry for renewable sources of energy such as bioethanol, solar power, hydropower, geothermal power, hydrogen fuel cells, wind power and biomass. The industry must identify feasible technologies that will suit current developments, regulations and incentives in the region.
The conference will address various topics and issues including future role of renewables in the Asian electricity market, investment opportunities in the market, challenges and opportunities in biomass, wood-based gasification, growth opportunities and technology trends for biolubricants, transportation fuels, employment of renewable energy technologies in buildings, transiting available resources from a marginal and risky solution into mainstream supply and viability of biofuels for transportation.
A pre-conference workshop on the challenges and opportunities for solar photovoltaic in Asian market will be held on March 26 and will be led by Ravi Krishnaswamy of Frost & Sullivan.
The workshop will outline the market potential of solar in different parts of the region, investment trends and demand for solar PV, price points across value chain, cost reduction initiatives, supply chain bottlenecks and emerging industry landscape, and growth opportunities for existing players, new entrants and successful market entry models.
Renewable Energy Conference 2008 and the pre-conference workshop are organised by The Asia Business Forum. For more information, please contact Admin@EnergyAsia.com.
